Deleted scene from Avengers: Endgame seemingly proves horrifying Thanos theory

Is Thanos coming back?

This deleted scene could spell disaster for the MCU as it helps support a rather chilling Thanos theory.

Most people can agree that the Marvel Cinematic Universe was able to accomplish something pretty spectacular in just over a decade.

They introduced three Marvel heroes in Captain America, Iron Man and Thor, which were NOBODY’S favorite (don’t even try to suggest you liked any of them more than the X-men or Spider-man before the MCU’s success) and turned them into even more iconic figures.

To top it all off, they were able to conclude their stories in a rollercoaster ride of a conclusion with the demise of the Infinity Saga’s big bad Thanos, played by James Brolin.

Since this was the last time a lot of people were invested in the MCU, it is easy to remember Avengers: Endgame's ending which saw Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man use the infinity stones to simply snap Thanos and his cronies out of existence.

But a deleted scene from the film breathes life into a terrifying Thanos theory.

In the scene, Tilda Swinton’s Ancient One speaks with Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk except this time, their conversation goes slightly differently.

As well as adding in a few meh jokes, the Ancient One reveals a rather intriguing detail about the *snap* that isn’t in the final cut.

She tells Hulk that Thanos’s finger-snap, which wiped out half of all existence, didn’t actually kill a single person but rather ‘willed them out of existence’.

She also noted that when someone dies, they are dead, ultimately helping explain why Natasha Romanov and that timeline’s version of Gamora stay dead after Hulk snaps everyone back into existence.

But the concerning thing about these details is that it ultimately means that Thanos and his minions can essentially be brought back to life in the same way the Avenger’s did it... that is how the theory goes at least.

So, while the MCU is happy to bring back Downey Jr, this time as Dr Doom, this deleted scene helps bolster the argument that we might not yet have seen the end of Thanos.

While some people like the fact that this deleted scene leaves the Thanos door open others have remarked that ultimately the scene we got in the movie was the better cut.

On YouTube one user wrote: “The reworked scene they used was much better. Better scripting.”

Another added: “I'm glad it didn't made the cut.”

With a third simply adding: “Removing the scene was a brilliant decision.”
